Canoe restoration can sometimes be a bit of an archaeological dig. You never really know what removing the canvas will reveal. Sometimes it reveals more damage that you couldn't see on initial inspection. But every once in a while you find something really interesting!

This week the interesting side of canvas removal came out when I uncovered this Langford. I found the markings of a past restoration. Skilled hands had once repaired and recanvassed this canoe. There's no way to tell when, but they left behind their notes about the ribs they were working on.

It feels good to be a part of this history!
