I can't believe it's been almost a year since our last blog post! What the heck?!

If you’ve been wondering what we’ve been up to, the short answer is: a lot. And the slightly longer answer is… even more than that.

This has been a very busy year, full of lots of ups and downs. As many of you know, we've been working on building a brand-new workshop here on the ranch. It's bigger, better, and designed specifically for restoring wood canvas canoes.

But as anyone who's ever tackled a big construction project knows, it wasn't all smooth sailing... and it's not over yet. There were delays, unexpected challenges, and a few “well, that wasn’t supposed to happen” moments. Still, every hiccup will be worth it. We’re upgrading

to a workshop that truly fits the work we love—restoring wood-and-canvas canoes with care and precision.

When will it be complete? That's a very good question! But ready or not, we're back to work. Canoes are coming in and going out again, albeit at a slightly slower pace (that's what happens when you're working around a pile of siding and soffits).

Speaking of which, we're in the finishing stages of a beautiful Chestnut Deer. Seeing the transformation from worn, tired wood and old canvas to a canoe that looks ready to glide across a lake again is why we do what we do. From stripping the old canvas to carefully sanding and refinishing the wood, every step was about preserving the character of this classic craft while making it strong and ready for many more adventures.

Thanks for sticking with us through this busy year—we promise it’s been worth the wait. Stay tuned for more updates, restoration stories, and maybe even a few tips if you’re curious about the craft.

Paddle on!
